Montfaucon Les Gardettes 2013 F042
Les Gardettes 2013 Rouge
Vin de France
It’s not everyday that Cinsault takes the leading role in a red ensemble from the southern Rhône Valley where Grenache is king. Cinsault is mostly found in blends with Grenache and Syrah and where it typically comprises the lesser amount. But Les Gardettes Rouge contains 55% Cinsault and with it comes a soft cherry palate that sits on top of the darker flavors of the 35% Carignan and 10% Grenache. It’s a “friends and family” kind of wine full of drinkability and meant to be cracked open the minute the door bell rings. Les Gardettes refers to the guard towers of the Château de Montfaucon – the ancient castle that overlooks the Rhône River. It’s a juicy, everyday drinker that delivers a ton of stuffing for the price. You’ll love this wine and the price.
